Ski trip
Day 1 - Tuesday, 23rd July, 2013.
- Woke up around 5 and got ready to leave the house. When I left the house it was still so dark but on the upside it was full moon and it looked so pretty and big!
- Got to Leichhardt and met up with everyone. I actually had no idea where the school was but once you see a bunch of kids with suitcases you know you are going the right way. It was so crowded and everyone was really just a mix of excitement and sleepiness.
- Everyone got their luggage on the bus and then off to a 5 hour bus ride. The first 2 or 3 hours were to just get to Canberra where we then stopped to look at the Old Parliament and War Memorial. It was so damn boring. I don't even know why we had to stop at Canberra at all.
- We stayed at Canberra for a couple of hours and then we went on the bus again to go to our motel in Berridale.
- Once everyone settled into their rooms we all had to get our ski gear. That actually took a couple of hours because there was just so many people. It was the first camp ever when it was both Leichhardt and Balmain. By the way our room sucked. Every other room had a microwave and we didn't. And we just so happened to have so much microwavable food.
- The rest of the night was just everyone settling in, dinner and talking. The first night at camp we didn't really feel like having their dinner so all of my cabin ended up making one big pot of noodles. It was actually so good and it felt so homely and family-like!
- After our little home-style dinner, had a big dnm sesh with all the girls while Jessica was phoning and acting all kawaii with her other one HAHA
Day 2 - Wednesday 24th July, 2013.
- Woke up around 5:30 to get ready and leave since breakfast was at 6 and we were told we had to leave straight after.
- Everyone packed their ski gear on the bus and got ready for the day.
- The bus ride to the snow was around 45 minutes to an hour and everyone was just sleeping the whole ride.
- Got to the snow and everyone got their boots, helmets, gloves and ski's on. We had ski lessons for around 2 hours each morning. Ended up in a group with Jessica, Elizabeth, Chynna and other people.
- The first ski lesson was alright. We just learned to mainly ski.. Our lessons ended at 10:30, and then everyone could just do their own thing for the rest of the day.
- Met up with Sandy, Esther and Vince after the ski lessons. We planned to go to the J bar but once we got there my fucking ski's weren't co-operating with me so I literally said 'fuck it' and walked down to where Queenie, Myra and others were and ended up building snowman's with them hehe.
- Slowly everyone started coming to the area where we were. Everyone was just getting tired and wanted to rest and somehow we all created one big snowball fight! It was just one big fun mess.
- We had lunch around 1 and after our little snow ball fight.
- After lunch I ended up going skiing with Damian, Paul, Tracy, Jimmy and others. Most people didn't really ski anymore since they were all tired but I hadn't skied all day so I wanted to go.
- Guys I have to tell you that I have never failed any worse than what I did that day. For my very first time actually skiing on a hill, I ended up going on the chair lift. Worst decision ever.
- I ended up skiing with Damian and omg I felt so bad because we ended up going a different way to the whole group and I couldn't ski at all. I ended up walking down the hill with him carrying my skis..
- Yeah after that terrible experience I didn't want to ski anymore so I went to the cafe place to meet up with everyone else. We all just stayed and talked until we had to go back on the bus.
- Another bus ride back to the motel and I don't really remember the rest of the night except going to the guys room to talk, and talking with the girls at night.
Day 3 - Thursday, 25th July, 2013.
- It was Damian's birthday!!
- When he came on the bus, we all sang happy birthday cause we all cheesy and that. And oh I forgot to mention for his birthday me, Sandy and Jessica bought him these two jackets and he ended up wearing them to camp which is pretty cute ehehehehe
- Got to the snow and had our lessons. That day I learnt how to actually ski properly. The problem was the other day I didn't know how to turn and that's actually really important..
- After the lessons had a little break and then went off skiing with everyone for the rest of the day.
- Since it was the last day of skiing no one took a break at all from skiing except for lunch which was compulsory. After lunch most people went to Perisher but I ended up just skiing with Sandy, Jessica and others for the whole day.
- For the whole day we went on just the chair lift. I went on mainly with Sandy but at one point we got separated since she went to ski with Anita, May, Tina and Esther. And for the rest of the day I just had random buddies to ski with. Whoever I ended up seeing up there I skiing with them.
- Since I actually figured out how to ski properly that day, it was one of the best days of the whole trip!
- One of the most memorable things that I remember that day was when me, Sandy, Jessica, Eddie, Jackson, Michael and a whole bunch of others went skiing in one big group and omg we were all skiing down a line since we were such a big group and Michael ended up falling down somehow and it was just a domino effect after that. Jackson fell after Michael and everyone cracked up laughing because he ended up breaking a tree branch along with him HAHAHA. Eddie was after to fall and omg he was just lying there in the middle of the trail and I was so close to skiing right near his head but I turned in time but I ended up skiing onto a tree.. And I got stuck in soft snow. Soft snow is horrible. It's so hard to get out of.
- So yeah mainly just skied, skied and skied some more until we literally had to leave for the bus.
- On the way back to the motel, everyone was so tired and just crashed. Once we got to the motel, we all returned all our ski gear and started to pack up and clean our rooms.
- Nothing really happened at night except a lot of binge eating. I ate so much junk food that I am now sick of it. This is what happens whenever we overpack food. We always end up stuffing ourselves and we even had so much left over we had to give it out.
Day 4 - Friday, 26th July, 2013.
- Time to go home!
- In the morning we set our alarms to 5:30 to get ready and all pack in time to leave but none of the cabin woke up until like 6 something..
- Packed up our room, went to breakfast and then after breakfast we all loaded our luggage onto the coach.
- Sat with Sandy on the bus and we hardly slept at all on the bus ride.. Ended up just staying up and talking with Noah and Chris. I didn't realise Noah is actually so innocent minded compared to me and Sandy.. HAHAHA
- It was a couple of hours drive to Canberra and then went to the Parliament House and some museum. So boring. All I remember was going to the museum we found a huge horse's heart on display, and at the Parliament House all I remember is that a lot of Prime Minister's have such ugly and bushy eyebrows.
- We stayed a couple of hours at Canberra and then on the coach again. We drove for a while and then stopped at Macca's for dinner. It was so packed and full of primary school kids. So annoying. I've always wondered how come pretty much every primary school kid has been to Canberra but I never got to go in primary school. Weird.
- After the little Macca's trip everyone was all pumped up again. On the bus ended up playing kiss, fuck and marry with Noah, Sandy and Chris and wow it was actually so fun.
- Eventually got to Leichhardt and I've got to say it felt so weird to come back during night. We usually always come back from camp in the afternoon and it just felt weird.
- Everyone got their stuff, found their parents and went home. And omg my parents got lost on the way to Leichhardt so they were late and you can't understand just how loner it feels to wait for your parents when pretty much everyone has left. It sucked.
- Got back to home sweet home. The first thing I did was take a shower, dinner, caught up on stuff and then sleep. I was so tired and I had tutor the next day which sucked. But oh well the sleep was freaking amazing. Missed my bed so much.
