Taster Week
Tuesday, 19th November, 2013.
- First day of Taster Week and it felt so tiring.
- Met up with everyone at Blackwattle and we all collected our forms and timetable for the rest of the week. We all got to figure out who's in which class and all that. Thank god I have at least one person I know in each class!
- Everyone gets to try two taster sessions each day and I got to go to Biology and Ancient History.
- For the Biology lesson I had Queenie, Damian, Nella, Jayjay, and a few others which was good since we all knew each other. We all just did an experiment and it was alright. Really hope I have Ms. Lewis next year because she seems like such a good teacher.
- And for last period I had Ancient History and that was so god damn boring. The teacher was super strict which is kinda good for next year. We just watched a documentary and it was interesting but I was so tired and forced myself to stay awake but I still ended up casually sleeping for a few minutes every now and then...
Wednesday, 20th November, 2013.
- Got to Blackwattle and we had a quick assembly where there was some kind of fashion show for the uniforms and it was just so bad. So bad.
- After the assembly was just a break and it was a realllly long one. Afterwards I had the Chemistry session and I really want to drop it starting next year. It is not my thing. I'm really hoping I can drop it for Legal Studies. Well in the lesson we just did experiments and it confuses me that a teacher that looks so stereotypically asian has a british accent. I don't get it.
- Break again and then we had our recreational activity. We split into our mentoring groups and mine went to Darling Harbour. Biggest trek ever.
- Got back for lunch and then my last session for the day was a study period. I expected to go home early but we had to go library and then had a 20 minute early mark. Boo.
- After school went Westfield with Esther to look for her formal shoes and accessories. I'm starting to panic about my formal dress now. Really hope I can end up buying one this week.
- Jessica met up with us after she finished at school and we looked around a bit and then I ended up going with Jessica to pool whereas Esther went home.
- Got to pool and talked to Vince and Jackson until they finished their game. Said bye afterwards and then I just went straight home. So much walking than I'm used to and now my feet are killing me. Nooooo
Thursday, 21st November, 2013.
- Had Economics and English Advanced for my subjects.
- Economics was so good omfg I really hope if I drop Chemistry it won't fuck up any of my subjects because so far I really like them all. And Mr. Colcott, best teacher ever. He's just so into Economics and explains things so well.
- English Advanced was okay. Have a feeling I will end up moving down to English Standard tho
- In the afternoon everyone had a sport session and my mentoring group with a couple of others did badminton. I seriously have no hand eye coordination. I couldn't even hit it once so I just gave up.... Ended up just on my phone playing games the whole time hehe
Friday, 22nd November, 2013.
- Last day of Taster Week!
- In the morning we had the usual assembly and I realised that throughout the week people have just gotten later every morning. There was really no point of going to the assemblies at all every morning.
- For today everyone had their last taster week session. My last one was Maths Extension and it was pretty good. Turns out that was the only class I've had all week where I actually did work.
- We also had a proper mentoring session and my mentoring teacher is Mr. Colcott!! Yayayayay. I really like him as a teacher and my mentoring class has some pretty nice people so woo
- For the mentoring lesson we had this activity where we had to randomly pair up with someone and ask each other questions and exchange answers and all that. Lisa was my partner and wow I have never actually talked to her until this week. We got to know each a little bit and then everyone in the class had to make a mini narrative about their partner and I don't know why but Mr. Colcott's story for his partner was really cute. Like awwww
- The last thing we did at Blackwattle for the day was an ending assembly. There was motivational speeches for next year and performance by Amanda and Myra and just information about next year.
- After school went city with Sandy, Esther and Jessica. Just walked around city and looked at shops and yada yada yada. After this afternoon I have come to the resolution that I really have to get my formal dress now. But cbfffffffffff
